Surface Area - Measurement!

Let's Review!

Rectangular prism:  SA = 2lw+2lh+2wh
Triangular prism:  SA = wh + lw + lh + ls

Don't worry if you do not have the hang of solving surface area for rectangular and triangular prisms! I am happy you are working hard and attempting to solve the questions.  Don't give up, I know you will get it!

Remember Grade 6's that we investigated how to find the surface area of these shapes by using a variety of tools. I love using the pattern blocks, but try some new technology and experiment with nets, and any dynamic geometry software you can find. If you find anything neat, bring it to class or tell us about it!

Some videos that may be useful to further your understanding!
